Samekh is the fifteenth letter of the Semitic abjads, including Phoenician sāmek 𐤎, Hebrew sāmeḵ ס, Aramaic samek , and Syriac semkaṯ ܣ. Samekh represents a voiceless alveolar fricative /s/. In the Hebrew language, the samekh has the same pronunciation as the left-dotted shin. The letter Samekh represents the number 60, and some of the Jewish sages have noted that this is the same number of letters found in the Birkat Kohanim “the “lifting of the hands” is a blessing that has been recited by the kohanim, the priests, since biblical times. Today, it is performed in the synagogue, typically during the holiday Musaf service.” – the “Priestly Blessing” found in “Numbers 6:23-27 NIV, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: ” ‘ “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ‘ “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”“There is a timeframe for the end of days in Psalm 119. If God looked into the Torah and spoke the universe into creation, the 119 – Torah based – speaks of the end. I am studying Psalm 119 right now and learning a lot about nature of the Hebrew alphabet as much as I am gaining an insight.Since it has been proven that Hebrew was the first language spoken by mankind I can only assume, and there are different Hebrew alphabets. In Talmudic legend, samekh is said to have been a miracle of the Ten Commandments. “Exodus 32:15 NIV, Moses turned and went down the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides, front and back.” ס Samekh is represented as a glorious depiction of the universal message that HaShem, YHVH, the God of Israel, is the sustainer of all, referring to all peoples. Its meaning is to lean upon, to uphold, and to support and we will see the revelations. Considering the value of 60 at this junction, we see the fullness of Vav, the 6th letter, the nail, or Yeshua, who connects heaven and earth. The Aaronic Blessing touches heaven and touches earth and the 15 letters comprise the 60 words but considering the former Covenant and the newer Covenant of Yeshua, there is a double portion in the blessing.
It reads in Psalm 119:113-120 NIV, ס Samekh
I hate double-minded people, but I love your law. You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word. Away from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commands of my God! Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed. Uphold me, and I will be delivered; I will always have regard for your decrees. You reject all who stray from your decrees, for their delusions come to nothing. All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross; therefore I love your statutes. My flesh trembles in fear of you; I stand in awe of your laws.
