Similar to the way the letter ע (ayin) represents the body part connected to sight, the letter פ (peh) represents the body part that is connected to speech, since the word פֶּה (peh) means mouth. In fact, it is the peh, which by providing humans with the power of speech, elevates the status of people above that of animals. People need to use this advantage and power in an intelligent and thought-out manner. Understand when it is appropriate to speak and when it is best to stop speaking and be silent. Speech can cause trouble or give life. “Life and death are in the hands of speech.” You ever say the wrong thing and automatically like a child put your hand over your mouth? Yes I am also guilty. We say wise or correct things at the appropriate times, they give us life. What you spoon out you always get back. Like praying for others from the heart or from our mouth and watching God work. We use our words in the wrong way they can harm us. The letter פ (peh) comes after the letterע (ayin) to teach us the order of things in life, first the eye (ayin) sees and then the mouth (peh) can start to express what the eye has seen. Mouths of certain individuals say what they feel and they can’t always control what comes out of their mouth. There are times that they are disapointed for what they have said. This same mouth makes it possible to make things right, by apologizing and speaking in a persuasive manner making things right. We need to ask God to give us His words to speak.
It reads in Psalm 119: 129-136 NIV, פ Pe:
Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands. Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. Redeem me from human oppression, that I may obey your precepts. Make your face shine on your servant and teach me your decrees. Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed.
