This part of Chapter 44 presents the Lord as the Creator and Redeemer who makes liars and diviners frustrated by restoring Israel to her land. For this purpose, God raised up Cyrus who would perform all the Lord’s pleasure in restoring Jerusalem and its temple. Those that learn to know Jesus Christ, see all knowledge to be foolishness, in comparison with the knowledge of Him. And his enemies will find their counsels turned into foolishness, and themselves taken in their craftiness. God never gives up on us.
Isaiah 44:24-28 KJV>
Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad the earth by myself; That frustrates the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turns wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish; That confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof: That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers: That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
