Jesus’ baptism by John was a step of obedience at the beginning of his public ministry to identify himself with John’s message of repentance and the revival movement it had begun. By submitting to the waters of baptism, Jesus linked himself with those who were coming to John and repenting. He was setting an example for all of his followers as well. John was the prophesied messenger who prepared the way for Jesus’ coming. John baptized Jesus as a final step to prepare the way for Jesus’ coming.

It reads in Luke 3:21-22 EASY>
While John was still baptizing all the people, he also baptized Jesus. While Jesus was praying, the sky opened. The Holy Spirit came down onto Jesus. When he came down like that, he looked like a dove. Then a voice spoke from heaven, ‘You are my Son and I love you. You make me very happy.’
