Keep from narrow-minded, hypocritical religious thinking. Reminding self is the best. Being just, loving mercy, and walking humbly with Jesus all the days of life is the best way. Remembering to stay focused on Jesus can be hard in this life, but becomes easier knowing He gets us. Jesus should be our authority over every decision. Being “equal with God” means that we will be in the same God Family as God the Father or Jesus Christ is with us. It has nothing to do with an equality of power, authority, intelligence, etc., within the Family. In Philippians 2:6, the sense is that being in the form of God, and therefore having equality with God, Jesus Christ set no store on that equality, as a glory to Himself, compared with the power of giving salvation to all men.
It reads in John 5:14-18 EASY> Some time after that, Jesus found the man in the temple. Jesus said to him, ‘See, you have become well. Stop doing wrong things. If you do not stop, something worse may happen to you.’ Then the man went to the Jewish leaders. He told them that it was Jesus who had made him well. The Jewish leaders were angry because Jesus had made a man well on their day of rest. As a result, they began to cause a lot of trouble for Jesus. But Jesus said to them, ‘My Father is still working, and I too must work.’ Because Jesus said this, the Jewish leaders became really angry. They wanted even more to kill him. Jesus not only worked on the day of rest. He was also calling God his own Father, so he was making himself equal to God.
