Humility and Worship: John’s reaction to the vision demonstrates the overwhelming nature of the revelation, but the angel redirects his worship solely to God, emphasizing that only God is to be worshipped.
Equality Among Servants: The angel identifies himself as a fellow servant, placing himself on equal footing with John, the prophets, and believers, stressing the unity among those who serve and honor God. highlights the importance of directing worship only to God and the sense of fellowship among all who serve Him.
It reads in Revelation 22:8-9 Easy: I am John. I myself heard these things and I saw them. When I had heard them and I had seen them, I bent down low at the angel’s feet. I wanted to worship him because he had shown these things to me. But the angel said to me, ‘You must not do that! I am only a servant of God, the same as you are. I serve God like all God’s prophets, who are believers like you. I serve God like everyone who obeys God’s message that is written in this book. God is the one that you must worship!’
Father God, I thank You and praise You that You have Your way of reminding us that we are all fellow servants, equally yoked together in unity and our mission to serve, worshiping and glorify You is firstmost. We must seek to improve, encourage and support each other as we journey together in faith. Keep our hearts humbled and our spirits focused on You. I love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
