God promises never to destroy all life with a flood again. As a sign of this covenant, God sets a rainbow in the clouds. The rainbow serves as a reminder of God’s promise between Him and all living beings on earth. God doesn’t forget His promises. God keeps His promises. God emphasizes that this covenant is everlasting, meant for all future generations.

It reads in Genesis 9:12-17 Easy: Then God said, ‘I will show you clearly that I have made this covenant with you, and with every living animal. I will keep this promise for ever, for as long as people live on the earth. I have put my rainbow among the clouds in the sky. It will show you clearly that I have made this covenant with everything on the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth, a rainbow will sometimes appear. Then I will remember the covenant that I have made with you and with all the different kinds of living things. Never again will the water become so deep that it destroys everything that lives. When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember my covenant. It is a promise that I have made with every kind of living thing on the earth.’ Then God said to Noah, ‘The rainbow will show you that I will certainly keep my promise. I will keep my covenant that is between me and everything that lives on the earth.’

Father God, I know in this life it gets so hard and tears feel like rain that never ends. But after the troubles it feels like a rainbow that washes over and life gets better again. The famous saying: It rains till it pours. Then a rainbow covers over me through the miracles in the trees. Falling are the leaves to flourish the Lilly’s rising up around me. . . like painting a vibrant, ever-changing tapestry of nature’s wonders with words. When the storm-clouds of life are thundering in on all sides, help me to trust Your Word. Also to remember the promises You have made to all Your children. My sight of a beautiful rainbow reminds me. It shows me that Your Word can’t be broken. All Your promises are so true. With the Holy Spirit I have a friend in You. I love You. I thank You. I praise You. I give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name. Amen Hallelujah!
