God’s first call and promise to Abram. These verses are pivotal. They lay the foundation of God’s covenant with Abram. This sets the stage for the unfolding story of the Israelite nation. It also leads to the fulfillment of God’s promises through Abram’s descendants. The First Promise to Abram.
It reads in Genesis 12:1-3 Easy: The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your country and the people of your father’s family. Go to the land that I will show you. I will cause your descendants to become a great nation. I will bless you. Everyone will know your name. You will bring my blessing to other people. I will bless those people who bless you. But I will curse anyone who insults you. Through you, I will bless all the families of people on the earth.’
Father God, I praise You and thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for Your promise to Abram and all his descendants to become a great nation. Your unity is building in our hearts and the hearts of others. Thank You and praise You for Your word that encourages me of Your promise to all who believe in You. Help us to stay Care Full in all our ways. You will continue to bless all those who walk in Your righteousness. Thank You and praise You for Your love that never fails.
