This section of Genesis 21; Hagar’s Ordeal in the Desert: God Protects Hagar and Ishmael. When Hagar and Ishmael were sent away, they nearly perished in the desert. As the water ran out, Hagar left Ishmael under a bush. She distanced herself because she couldn’t witness him dying. God heard and came to Hagar, and provided the water for them. God provided their physical need and promised to make Ishmael into a great nation.

Genesis 21:15-21: When the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the bushes. Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she began to sob. God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation. Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink. God was with the boy as he grew up. He lived in the desert and became an archer. While he was living in the Desert of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from Egypt.
Father God, only You know a mother’s heart for her children. I can really speak for Hagar. Her heart felt like it was bleeding for her child. It would jump right out because she did not know how to save Ishmael from death. You Lord, heard her cries and Ishmael’s cries. You saved and provided for them because of Your endless love. You count every tear…. I thank You and praise You for Your unconditional love. You love all Your children in the good and the bad. You are always here for us. I love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
