So, after the test of Abraham’s faith when he was willing to sacrifice Isaac, God promises him: “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies.” A promise emphasized of God’s commitment to bless Abraham and make his descendants exceedingly numerous, securing their future and dominance over their enemies.
It reads in Genesis 22:14-19 Easy: Abraham called that place ‘The Lord will give me what I need.’ People still say today, ‘On the mountain of the Lord, he will give us what we need.’ The angel of the Lord called from heaven to Abraham again. The angel said, ‘This is what the Lord says: I promise that this is what I will do for you. You did not try to keep your son safe, but you offered him to me. And he was your only son. Because you have done this, I will bless you. I will make your descendants become so many that people cannot count them. They will be as many as the stars that are in the sky. They will be as many as the pieces of sand on the shore by the sea. Your descendants will win against their enemies and their enemies’ cities. I will bless all the nations on the earth through your descendants. I will do this because you have obeyed me.’ Then Abraham returned to his servants, with Isaac. Together they all left to go to Beersheba. Abraham lived there for a time.
Father God, thank You and praise You for the faith demonstrated by Abraham and for the Lord Jesus Christ, the Seed of Abraham, Whom You sent to earth to be our Kinsman Redeemer by willingly offering His life as the required payment for sin. Help me to develop an unshakable inward faith and to be ready and willing to demonstrate it in word and deed, through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. This is how all people should treat each other as if that other person needing help where their own child. As Abraham offered his son as a gift and the healing came from the Lamb that was slain for Abrahams offering to God. You are awesome God how You protect those who believe in You. I love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
