Abraham receives news about his brother Nahor’s descendants. Nahor’s wife, Milcah, has borne him several children: Uz, Buz, Kemuel (the father of Aram), Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel. Bethuel is notably the father of Rebekah, who will later become Isaac’s wife. This genealogical information emphasizes the continuity of Abraham’s family and God’s promise to make his descendants numerous.
It reads in Genesis 22:20-24 Easy:Later, someone told Abraham ‘Milcah also has given birth to children. Your brother Nahor is their father.’ The names of the children were: Uz, the son who was born first. Then his brother Buz. Then Kemuel, who is the father of Aram. Then five more sons: Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel. Bethuel later became the father of Rebekah. Those were the eight sons of Milcah and Abraham’s brother, Nahor. Nahor also had a slave wife. Her name was Reumah. She also gave birth to sons for Nahor. Their names were: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash and Maakah.
Father God, thank You and praise You that You are so awesome in keeping Your promise to Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen as The Lord Will Provide.” Thank You so much for not sacrificing Isiac because He was Your child and Abraham was willing to give Him back to You as a gift and You let Abraham keep the gift You gave him to take care of. That is pure faith and trust in a God who never lets us down. I love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
