In the beginning, void and deep,

The Spirit stirred where darkness would sleep.

“Let there be light,” came the Creator’s decree,

And day from night was set free.

The heavens stretched, waters aligned,

Sky above, oceans confined.

Earth emerged, verdant and bright,

With grasses, trees, and fruit in sight.

The sun to rule the day’s grand stage,

The moon and stars to time the age.

The seasons turned, the rhythms came,

A cosmos ordered in His name.

The seas then teemed with life anew,

Great creatures swam, the birds they flew.

Land gave rise to beasts untamed,

Each with form and purpose framed.

Then humankind,

His crowning grace,

In His image, a sacred place.

Dominion granted, the earth their care,

A bond of trust, a world to share.

Six days passed, and all was done,

A canvas painted beneath the sun.

“Good,” He said, as He surveyed,

A masterpiece His hands had made.

The seventh day, a holy rest,

The Creator’s heart, in peace, was blessed.

The work complete, the story spun,

Thus began the world we stand upon.
