Jacob’s sons respond deceitfully, claiming they will agree to the marriage and alliance if all the men in Hamor’s city are circumcised. The brothers’ deceit complicates the story’s moral dynamics. This condition is presented as a necessary step for intermarriage to occur.

(It reads in Genesis 34:13–17 Easy) Because of the bad thing that Shechem had done to Dinah, Jacob’s sons decided to deceive him. And they deceived his father Hamor too. They said, ‘We cannot give our sister to a man who has not been circumcised. We would be ashamed to do this. If you want to marry Dinah, you must do one thing. You must circumcise all your males. Then you will become like us and we will agree for you to marry Dinah. Then we will give you our daughters so that your men can marry them. And our men will marry your daughters. We will live among you, so that we become one people with you. But your men must agree to be circumcised. If not, we will take our sister with us and we will leave this place.’

Father God, I am believing for Your wisdom, justice, and discernment. In a world where deception and dishonor can take root, guide my heart to walk in truth. Help me navigate difficult situations with integrity and grace, never compromising righteousness for personal gain. I trust that I will have the strength to maintain my faith amid temptation or opposition. I believe I will never use deceit to justify my actions but instead rely on Your justice and mercy. You have taught me to hold my own and pay for what You give me to take care of. Give me patience and understanding, so that my decisions reflect Your love and righteousness. I totally surrender my worries and burdens to You from now on and forgive me when I fall short with worry, trusting that Your plan is greater than my own. Lead me in paths of righteousness, and let my heart be pure before You. Keep guiding the right people in my life that are Jesus to others and Love You.  Thank You, praise You and give You all the hoor and glory in Jesus Name Amen.
