Significant moment in Jacob’s life. After returning from Paddan Aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him. God reaffirmed Jacob’s new name, Israel, signifying his transformation. He then reiterated His promise: Jacob’s descendants would become a great nation, and the land given to Abraham and Isaac would also be his inheritance. In response, Jacob set up a stone pillar at the place where God spoke to him, pouring out a drink offering and oil, and naming the place Bethel, meaning “house of God”

It reads in Genesis 35: 8-15 Easy:Rebekah’s nurse, Deborah, died at that time. Jacob buried her under the oak tree near Bethel. That is why they call the place Allon Bacuth.] After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram, God appeared to him again. God blessed Jacob. He said to Jacob, ‘Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob. Instead, your name will be Israel.’ So God gave the name Israel to Jacob. Then God said to him, ‘I am Almighty God. Give birth to many children so that your descendants become very many. They will become many nations and some of them will be kings. I give to you the land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac. Yes, I will give this land to your descendants that come after you.’Then God went away from the place where he spoke to Jacob. Jacob set up a special stone on the ground. It showed the place where God had spoken to him. He poured a drink offering on the stone. He also poured olive oil on it. In that way, Jacob called the place where God spoke to him Bethel.

Father God, Thank You and Praise You for Your faithfulness throughout generations. Just as You reaffirmed Your promise to Jacob, I trust in Your guidance and provision in my life. Like Jacob, may I set up reminders in my heart to thank You, glory to You and honor You and recognize Your presence in my journey. I give You praise, and I surrender my plans to You. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
