Joseph’s encounter with Potiphar’s wife. After Joseph fled, leaving his cloak behind, she falsely accused him of wrongdoing. She called the household servants and claimed that Joseph had tried to take advantage of her, using his abandoned cloak as supposed evidence. When Potiphar returned home, she repeated the accusation, and in his anger, Potiphar had Joseph thrown into prison, where the king’s prisoners were kept. Joseph’s life was a turning point, though falsely accused and imprisoned, God remained with him, setting the stage for his eventual rise to power.
It reads in Genesis 39:13-20 Easy: The woman saw that Joseph had left his coat in her hand and had run out of the house. She called to the men outside and said, “Look! This Hebrew slave was brought here to make fun of us. He came in and tried to attack me, but I screamed. My scream scared him and he ran away, but he left his coat with me.” Then she kept his coat until her husband, Joseph’s master, came home. She told her husband the same story. She said, “This Hebrew slave you brought here tried to attack me! But when he came near me, I screamed. He ran away, but he left his coat.” Joseph’s master listened to what his wife said, and he became very angry. So Potiphar put Joseph into the prison where the king’s enemies were held, and that is where Joseph remained.
Father God, in moments of injustice and hardship, I turn to You. Just as Joseph faced false accusations and imprisonment, I ask for Your strength to endure challenges with faith and integrity. When I feel misunderstood or wrongly judged, remind me that You see my heart. Help me trust in Your plan, knowing You are working all things for good. May I find peace in Your presence and courage to stand firm in righteousness. Even in difficult seasons, let me hold onto hope. Teach me to rely on You, knowing You are my refuge and deliverer. May my trials refine me and draw me closer to You. Thank You for Your unwavering love and guidance. I place my trust in You, believing You will lead me through every storm. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
