In this passage marks a pivotal shift in the story of Israel. Joseph’s legacy, once honored, was forgotten, and fear began to shape policy. The new Pharaoh saw the growing Hebrew population not as a blessing, but as a threat. His words reveal a strategy of oppression born from insecurity and control. When favor is forgotten, fear often fills the void.
It reads in Exodus 1:8–10 Easy: Later a new king began to rule in Egypt. He did not know anything about Joseph. He said to his people, ‘Look! The Israelites have become too many for us. They are more powerful than we are. We must find a clever way to stop them. If we do nothing, their families will become even bigger. Then, if there is a war, they will join our enemies and they will fight against us. That will give the Israelites a chance to leave our country.’
Father God, when the world forgets what You’ve done, and fear leads to oppression, remind us that You remember every promise. Give us wisdom when others plot harm, and courage when we feel outnumbered. Protect those who are vulnerable and raise up leaders who honor truth. Even in the shadows of injustice, let Your light guide us to freedom. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
