“When Defeat Gives Us Victory”
When the waters rise and armies chase, When shadows fall and fears embrace, The Lord of hosts still makes a way, Turning night into the dawn of day.
The horse and rider sink below, But God’s strong hand will overthrow. What seemed our end becomes our song, His breath of life makes weak hearts strong.
So lift the timbrel, dance, rejoice, Let faith resound in every voice. For every trial, every sea, Becomes a hymn of victory.
Defeat is shattered, chains undone, The battle lost, yet victory won. Sing, O people, loud and free, The Lord has triumphed gloriously!
