“You must not have any other gods except Me.”

Meaning: It reads in Exodus 20:1-3 These are the things God told his people: “I am the Lord your God. I am the one who freed you from the land of Egypt, where you were slaves. “You must not worship any other gods except me.

Put God first. Let nothing else — not fear, not people, not possessions — take His place in your heart or decisions.

Heart Reflection:

We don’t bow to statues today, but we often bow to worry, approval, busyness, or the need to be needed. This commandment invites us back to center — to let God be the One who defines us, guides us, and steadies us.

Poetic Line:

When God is first, everything else finds its rightful place.

Prayer:

“Lord, clear the clutter from my heart. Be first in my thoughts, my choices, and my days. Teach me to trust You above all else.” in Jesus precious name amen.
