Long ago, in the quiet hills of Bethlehem, shepherds watched their sheep

under the stars. The night was calm. The sheep

were sleeping. The shepherds were keeping watch. Suddenly

an angel appeared! The sky shone bright with Godβs glory. The shepherds were afraid, but the angel

said: βDo not be afraid! I bring you good news. Today, in Bethlehem, a Savior has been born. You will find Him lying in a manger.β Then the sky filled with angels,

Singing:

βGlory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to all people!β The shepherds said, βLetβs go! Letβs see this wonderful thing God has told us about.β They hurried to Bethlehem. And there, just as the angel

said, they found Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus, wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger. The shepherds knelt down. They praised God with joy in their hearts.

Then they ran to tell everyone: βThe Savior has come! Jesus is born!β And thatβs why we celebrate Christmas,

because Jesus is the reason for the season!

(Luke 2:8β20)
Heavenly Father God, we thank You & praise You for the gift of Jesus, the light that shines in the darkness, the hope that fills our hearts, & the love that binds us together. Bless every home this Christmas, with peace that calms, joy that overflows, & kindness that reaches far beyond the season. Be near to those who are lonely, comfort those who grieve, strengthen those who are weary, Jehovah Rapha heal those who need healing & remind us all that we are never alone, for Emmanuel, God with us, has come. May our words be gentle, our hands be giving, & our hearts be open, so that the miracle of Bethlehem is alive in us today in Jesus precious name, Amen.
