“You must not murder.”

Meaning: It reads in Exodus 20:13 Easy: “You must not murder anyone.

Protect life. Honor the sacredness of every human being. This commandment is not only about physical violence, it’s about refusing to harm, diminish, or destroy the life, dignity, or worth of another person.

Jesus later expanded this commandment to include anger, hatred, and contempt. The heart matters just as much as the hands.

Heart Reflection:

Most of us will never take a life, but we all know what it feels like to be wounded by words, dismissed by someone’s anger, or crushed by someone’s judgment.

This commandment calls us to be people who give life, not take it, with our tone, our choices, our forgiveness, our restraint.

It also reminds us to protect our own hearts from bitterness, because bitterness slowly kills the life inside us.

God calls us to be builders of peace, keepers of dignity, and carriers of compassion.

Poetic Line:

Let my words be shelter, not weapons; let my heart be a place where life can breathe.

Prayer:

“Lord, cleanse my heart from anger, resentment, and harshness. Teach me to speak life, to choose peace, and to honor the sacred worth of every person I meet. Guard my spirit from bitterness and make me a vessel of Your gentleness. “In Jesus Precious Name Amen.
