“You must not commit adultery.”
Meaning: It reads in Exodus 20:14 Easy: “You must not commit adultery.
Honor the sacredness of covenant relationships. Be faithful in heart, mind, and body. Protect trust. Guard your promises. Value the bonds God has joined, whether in marriage or in any relationship built on commitment and truth.
This commandment isn’t only about physical betrayal — it’s about the posture of the heart. Faithfulness is a way of living, not just a rule to follow.
Heart Reflection:
Adultery begins long before actions — it begins in the quiet places of desire, imagination, resentment, or escape. God calls us to be people who protect what is precious, who nurture loyalty, who choose honesty over secrecy, and who honor the hearts entrusted to us.
This commandment also reminds us of God’s own character: He is faithful, steady, unwavering — and He invites us to reflect that same faithfulness in our relationships.
For those who have been wounded by betrayal, this commandment is not condemnation — it is comfort. It tells you that God sees your pain and values the loyalty you gave.
Poetic Line:
Faithfulness is love that stays when storms rise and feelings shift.
Prayer:
“Lord, make my heart faithful and true. Guard my thoughts, my desires, and my choices. Heal any place where betrayal has left a scar, and teach me to love with integrity, honesty, and steadfastness. Let my relationships reflect Your unwavering faithfulness.” In Jesus Precious Name Amen.
