“Paths of Justice, Steps of Mercy”
(Inspired by Exodus 21:1–19)
These are the laws the Lord set down, not to burden, but to guide.
A way for wounded hearts to heal, a way for wrongs to be made right.
For every servant, every life, He wove protection in the law.
A shield for those with little strength, a boundary for the strong.
When tempers rise and harm is done, He calls for more than blame.
He asks for hands that make amends, for hearts that own their shame.
If someone falls because of us, we do not turn away.
We lift them up, we help them stand, we walk with them each day.
For justice is not vengeance, and mercy is not weak.
Restoration is His heartbeat, and healing is what He seeks.
So teach us, Lord, to live this way, with courage, grace, and care.
To mend the wounds we’ve caused in life and lighten others’ burdens there.
