The Greatest Commandment: One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. “Justice and Care”
When something stolen must be restored, when careless fire burns a neighbor’s field, God teaches hearts to make things right, to heal what harm and haste have sealed.
What’s trusted must be guarded well, With honest hands and truthful speech. Responsibility is holy work. A lesson love must daily teach.
Dignity is never small; no person is cast aside or used. God stands for honor, truth, and care, where power might be misused.
No other gods, no hidden harm, no practices that twist the soul. The Lord alone must shape our lives, our worship pure, our hearts made whole.
The stranger welcomed, not oppressed, the widow heard, the orphan known. God listens closely to their cries, their pain is never faced alone.
Lend with mercy, not with gain, return the cloak before the night. Justice walks with kindness here, compassion guarding what is right.
Honor God in word and deed, Give thanks for every gift and breath. Live set apart, a holy people, Choosing life in love, not death.
Exodus Twenty-Two reminds us still: Faith is lived in how we care, for neighbor, stranger, poor, and weak, For truth, for trust, for justice fair.
