It reads in Exodus 25:23–30 Easy: Use acacia wood to make a table. It must be one 1 metre long, 50 centimetres wide and 75 centimetres high. Cover the wood with gold. Build up the edges of the table with gold. Also, fix an extra piece of wood around its edge. It must be 7 centimetres wide. Build up the edges of this piece with gold. Make four gold rings for the table. Fix them to the four corners, one beside each leg of the table. The rings must be near to the extra piece of wood. They will hold the poles that you will use to carry the table. Use acacia wood to make the poles. Cover them with gold. Use the poles to carry the table.Use pure gold to make plates, big spoons, jars and bowls. You will use these things to pour out drink offerings. Put the Lord’s special bread on this table. The bread must always be there for me.

In this part of Exodus 25, God gives Moses instructions for building a table, not a throne, not a monument, not a platform, but a table. A simple piece of furniture, made holy because of what it would hold: the Bread of the Presence, a sign that God would dwell with His people day after day. This table wasn’t tucked away in a corner. It wasn’t hidden behind curtains or stashed in the closet. It stood inside the Holy Place as a constant reminder: God feeds His people. God stays with His people. God sits at the table with His people. The bread was replaced every Sabbath, fresh each week, because God’s presence is never stale, never distant, never leftover. He meets us with new mercy, new strength, new provision. The table itself, made of acacia wood and covered in gold, shows us something tender: Wood speaks of humanity and Gold speaks of divinity. Together, they whisper the story of a God who bridges the gap between heaven and earth. This table points forward to Jesus, the Bread of Life, who sits with us in our ordinary days, our weary moments, our quiet mornings, and our long nights. He doesn’t wait for perfection. He comes to the table we have, even if it’s scratched, cluttered, or worn from life.

Father God, thank You and praise You for the table of Your presence. Teach us to slow down, to sit with You, and to receive the daily bread You offer. Let Your presence nourish our hearts, steady our minds, and strengthen our steps. Make our lives a place where You dwell, not for distance, but for nearness. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name, Amen.
