A song of plea to God Almighty to show us mercy and compassion where we need it the most. Also, pleading to God to save us from the reproach of people. In this present world that we live in, quite a number of people patiently wait for our downfall especially as Christians so that they could mock us and gossip about us. They make in front of God we love. King David like many of us to have these people waiting for him to be put to shame, Psalm 25 is written to plead to God to rescue him from the plans of his adversaries. God always rescues those who are faithful to Him. God to remember his promises concerning those who believe in him.
It reads in Psalm 25:1-22 NIV
Psalm of Of David.
(V, 1-3) In you, Lord my God, I put my trust. I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.
{David knows that he can trust the Lord just because He is God. He knows that God will take care of him no matter what and that he cannot have eternal life without God. }
(v,4-7) Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.
{David knows that he has sin in his life and has done things wrong in the past. He understands that he needs God to forgive him for these sins. He wants God to show him the way to live so that he will be closer to God and less likely to sin.}
( V, 8-15) Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant. For the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
(V, 12 -15) Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land. The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare.
{David understands that the Lord is good. God deserves all of his praise, and he cannot do anything good without God. David isn’t perfect. Sometimes he does things wrong. David needs God to guide him through life. }
(V,16-22) Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. See how numerous my enemies are and how fiercely they hate me! Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you. Deliver Israel, O God, from all their troubles!
{David understands that he needs God in every part of his life. Without God, David’s enemies will crush him. God will give David the strength that he needs to overcome his enemies, the hope to overcome his fears, and peace when he is troubled. God is here for us when we are in need, just like He was there for David. God is watching out for all of us no matter where we go. He sees us when we are sad, hurt, afraid, happy or full of joy.
