These verses give instructions for a specific type of grain offering add oil and frankincense to the offering, present a portion of it on the altar as a memorial, and season the offering with the salt of the covenant so it will be acceptable. These verses emphasize the ritual elements (oil, incense, salt) that accompany cereal offerings and the requirement that the offering includes the covenantal salt.

“If you bring a grain offering from the first harvest to the Lord, you must bring roasted heads of grain. They must be crushed heads of fresh grain. This will be your grain offering from the first harvest. You must put oil and frankincense on it. It is a grain offering.  The priest must burn part of the crushed grain, the oil, and all the frankincense on it as a memorial offering. It is a gift to the Lord. Leviticus 2:14-16 Easy:

Father God, we bring the humble gifts of our hands as an offering, asking You to bless them with Your oil of grace and receive the fragrance of our praise. Let this day unite us in compassion so we may celebrate and mourn together, bear one another’s burdens, and rejoice in every form of family. Let your peace rest on every heart today. Bless us with patience, kindness, and the courage to love well. Season our lives with the salt of your covenant so we stay faithful and preserved in your love.
