Oil on the forehead, blood on the altar’s horn, a people learning holiness one obedient step at a time. Aaron stands waiting, robe heavy with promise, linen whispering the weight of a calling he cannot carry alone. Moses pours the anointing oil, and it runs like sunlight down the fabric of service, setting apart what God has chosen. The ram of ordination falls, its lifeblood marking ears, hands, feet, every place a priest must listen, every work a priest must offer, every path a priest must walk.  Seven days of waiting, seven days of fire and stillness, until the glory of the Lord meets the obedience of His servants and the work of worship begins. Make us, Lord, a consecrated people, ears tuned to Your voice, hands ready for Your service, feet steady on Your paths.

Leviticus 8 gives us a vivid picture of what it means to be set apart for God. Aaron and his sons didn’t step into ministry casually, they were washed, clothed, anointed, and marked by sacrifice. Every detail whispered the same truth: God Himself prepares the ones He calls. The anointing oil flowed because the calling came from God. The blood touched ear, hand, and foot because every part of their lives, what they heard, what they did, where they walked, belonged to Him. And the seven days of waiting remind us that consecration is not rushed; it is a slow, steady surrender to God’s shaping. For us today, the outward rituals have changed, but the heart of consecration has not. God still calls us to listen for His voice, to offer our work to Him, and to walk paths marked by obedience. Holiness is not perfection, it is willingness. It is saying, “Lord, make every part of me Yours.”

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, set us apart for Your purposes. Tune our ears to Your voice, steady our hands for Your service, and guide our feet in Your ways. Make our lives a living offering that honors You. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Precious Name Amen.
