“Some animals have split hooves, but the hooves don’t make exactly two parts. Some animals don’t chew the cud. Some animals don’t have hooves; they walk on their paws. All these animals are unclean for you. If you touch them, you will become unclean until evening. If you pick up the dead bodies of these unclean animals, you must wash your clothes. You will be unclean until evening. These animals are unclean for you. Leviticus 11:26-28 ERV:

These verses teach that certain animals are declared unclean and that contact with them makes a person ceremonially unclean until evening, requiring washing or other simple acts of cleansing. The law’s focus on boundaries and restoration shows God’s concern for holiness and for practical ways to return to community after impurity. Spiritually, this invites you to notice what you touch, habits, media, relationships, that leave you spiritually unsettled, and to practice small, concrete steps of repentance and renewal that restore fellowship with God and others.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, give me eyes to see what makes me unclean and the humility to turn away. Help me take small, faithful steps of cleansing and repentance so I can walk in Your holiness and peace. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Precious Name Amen.
