God names a leader from each tribe to help Moses and Aaron. These men represent their families and communities before the Lord. God raises leaders to serve and guide His people.
Numbers 1:5-16 ERV:
These are the names of the men who will stand with you and help you:
From the tribe of Reuben—Elizur son of Shedeur;
From the tribe of Simeon—Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
From the tribe of Judah—Nahshon son of Amminadab;
From the tribe of Issachar—Nethanel son of Zuar;
From the tribe of Zebulun—Eliab son of Helon;
From the descendants of Joseph:
From the tribe of Ephraim—Elishama son of Ammihud;
From the tribe of Manasseh—Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
From the tribe of Benjamin—Abidan son of Gideoni;
From the tribe of Dan—Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
From the tribe of Asher—Pagiel son of Ocran;
From the tribe of Gad—Eliasaph son of Deuel;
From the tribe of Naphtali—Ahira son of Enan.”
All these men were the leaders of their families. The people also chose them to be leaders of their tribes.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for seeing each of us as Your beloved children, not just as resources or tools. Help me to count others with You, to honor their worth, to include them in Your plans, and to live in a way that reflects Your love. May my actions reflect Your heart for every person. Thank You for all those through the years that you have guided in my life. Some in Heaven. Some moved to other churches and those who are home bound. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
