Father God let this touch someones heart today in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
What does Psalm chapter 40 mean? David experienced danger many times in his life, often as threats from men who marked him out, specifically, for death. In those moments, he prayed to God and was rescued. In some moments, the danger seemed so dire that David saw no way out, like a person trapped in a deep, slimy hole with no escape.
Example: This is how God works. If someone throws a rock off a building and you are right under it. All of a sudden you see $5.00 bill 3 feet away from where that rock is going to hit. You run over and pick up that $5.00 and run around and that rock missed you. That is God working. God will direct and prompt you away from danger. It is our mind that must respond or live with the consequences. So, David avoided many dangers by loving God and obeying. A person may say: But I have sinned so much, God don’t want me back. If you just turn to God, He will forgive as long as you except His Son Jesus and walk in obedience to His will and not your own. Those who hurt you shall eat their own shame. Just saying. I love how this Psalm says it like it is. In Isaiah The promise of God concerning the church’s safety solemnly laid down, as the heritage of the servants of the Lord, as that which they may depend upon and be confident of, that God will protect them from their adversaries both in camps and courts.
Psalm 40:1-17
{For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.}
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have opened burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require. Then I said, “Here I am, I have come, it is written about me in the scroll. I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.” I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, Lord, as you know. I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly. Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord; may your love and faithfulness always protect me. For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me. Be pleased to save me, Lord; come quickly, Lord, to help me. May all who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace. May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” be appalled at their own shame. But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say,
“The Lord is great!”
But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.

.”Prayer”

Father God, what a privilege it is to be Your child and to be called by Your name. I praise You and thank You that You prove to be such a good and gracious Father, Who is very patient and of great goodness. I praise You and thank You for the long-suffering mercy You showed to Your people Israel despite their bad ways, and what a confidence I have in You, that Your promises to the Church will similarly never fail. I thank You there is nothing in the physical or spiritual realm that can triumph over me, that I am secure in Christ, and every accusation of the enemy will be condemned. Thank You that You Lord started a good work in me will continue it until the day of Christ Jesus in His Precious Name Amen.
