“Each of you must honor your mother and father and keep my special days of rest. I am the Lord your God! Leviticus 19:3 ERV

Honoring parents is a concrete way to live out God’s holiness in family life; keeping the Sabbath reminds us that our worth and rhythm come from God, not from our productivity. Both commands flow from the same source: the LORD who calls us to reflect His character. Obedience here is practical, respecting elders, caring for family needs, and setting aside time to rest and worship, small, faithful acts that shape a holy people and point others to God’s goodness.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, help me honor and rest in You. Give me a heart that respects and cares for my family, and the discipline to keep Sabbath rest as worship. Make my obedience a witness to Your holiness. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Amen.
