The people must stand up when they are with old people. They must respect the old people. They must give honor to their God. I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 19:32 ERV:
Two teenagers warmly welcome an elderly couple into their home. God calls us to honor and respect the elderly, treating them with dignity because how we treat people reflects our reverence for God. Small, visible acts, standing when an older person enters, listening without interrupting, offering help, are outward signs of an inward posture of humility and gratitude. These gestures remind us that every life carries worth and wisdom, and that holiness shows itself in everyday relationships. We should have an elderly National Holiday Today, look for one older person you can intentionally honor with time, attention, or a simple act of courtesy. Pray with them. Ask if you can get their email or number to check in on them from time to time. If they say no, that’s okay. At least you showed you cared and wanted to make sure they were doing well.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for the gift of those who have gone before us. Help me to see their worth, to listen with patience, and to show honor in word and deed. Give me a humble heart that values wisdom and a willing hand to serve. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
