Leviticus 23:23-25 ERV: Again the Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites: On the first day of the seventh month, you must have a special day of rest. Blow the trumpet to remind the people that this is a holy meeting. You must not do any work. You must bring an offering as a gift to the Lord.”

These verses call Israel to observe a sacred Sabbath of solemn rest at the start of the seventh month, marked by a blowing of trumpets and a holy convocation, a public pause to remember and honor God. God invites His people into intentional stopping: a rhythm of rest that interrupts ordinary life so we can remember His sovereignty and mercy. The trumpet’s sound is both a summons and a reminder an audible call to turn our attention from busyness to worship. Observing a holy convocation teaches us that rest is not merely absence of work but a communal act of reverence that reorients our hearts toward God.

This week, choose one deliberate pause, a short Sabbath moment, a quiet hour, or a simple ritual of prayer and praise, where you silence distractions and listen for God’s voice. Let the practice of stopping become a way to proclaim His holiness in your daily routine.

Dear Lord Jesus, help me to hear Your call to rest and worship. Teach me to stop when You say stop, to listen when You speak, and to honor You with my attention and praise. Restore my soul and make my heart ready to celebrate Your holiness. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Precious Mighty Name Lord Jesus Amen.
